Dr. Kereshmeh Afsari has worked in several settings within the higher education, residential, commercial, and industrial sectors. An assistant professor at Purdue University’s School of Construction Management Technology, she brings her vibrant work experience to the classroom. Her research focuses on construction, the application of computational science to building design, implications for smart living, value engineering, and sustainable design. She has also helped develop new AEC technologies and BIM methods at Autodesk, Perkins+Will, and SmartBIM, among others. Dr. Afsari received her PhD in architecture (design computation) from Georgia Institute of Technology; a MS in digital architectural design from University of Salford; and a master’s degree in architecture from the Iran University of Technology and Science.
Dr. David Brian Ashley is a professor of civil and environmental engineering at the University of Southern California. He has a doctoral degree in civil engineering and a master’s degree in economics from Stanford University. He completed master’s and bachelor’s degrees in civil engineering at MIT. His research interests include the development and implementation of risk-analysis techniques appropriate for construction engineering and project management. Prior to teaching at USC, he served as the executive vice chancellor at University of California, Merced, and dean of the College of Engineering at Ohio State University.
